Live, Learn and Enjoy is the U3A Maitland motto. Our not-for-profit community group offers a variety of courses and social activities for people in the Maitland NSW area who are looking for something extra to do with their spare time.

Presidents Message

Hello Leaders!

The U3A committee wants to extend to you our very sincere thanks for making 2017 a successful and enjoyable year for our members. Every morning we get up, check our calendars (or notes on the fridge door), and set off to join an activity, learn something new, see some familiar faces, enjoy a chat and quite often, have a coffee as well.

The activities you provide create the heart and soul of U3A, and without each of you volunteering your time, expertise, energy and humour, none of the above would take place.

So, a heartfelt thank you for your time and commitment, best wishes for a happy Christmas break, and we all look forward to giving you our undivided attention as you lead us into another great year in 2018.

Hello fellow U3A members!
Thank you for your cheerful and engaging participation in the U3A activities throughout
2017. Your willingness to learn, laugh and explore together, makes our U3A a truly friendly organisation.

This year you have had the opportunity to tap your feet, shake your bellies, scratch your heads, strum some strings, hit some mallets, scrutinise the past and the present, create some stories, master your cameras, sing some songs, peep at some birds, sip some coffee, munch some lunch, plan a trip or two, turn some riveting pages, breakfast with champions, create some artistic masterpieces, check out the big screen, strengthen your bones, flip some cards, stitch some bits, track some lost rellies, wander down some leafy lanes, sip at some vino, twitter some tiles and come to grips with your computers, not to mention enjoy some fine get togethers organised by your social committee, and read some great newsletters put together by your editor.

We hope that you have enjoyed some or all of the above, and that you have a happy and restful holiday season. By the time you have put away your Christmas decorations, it will be time to start all over. Check your newsletter for details of enrolment dates so that you can do it all again in 2018, and keep your eyes out for new courses too.

We hope to see you all at the Christmas Lunch.
Thank you and a Happy Christmas
Fiona Abbey for your U3A Committee.
